David (Dave) Johansen, known to this board as "Katchina1920", passed away peacefully in suburban Chicago after a short but brutal battle with cancer.  I met him in 1977 in a college dorm lobby, reading a TRAINS magazine.  Dave was a wonderful friend, father, professional, Christian, and rail advocate.  Dave rode over a million miles on Amtrak, many of them with me.  He had a brief stint with the 20th Century Rail Club, and held the Southwest Chief train and route in the same esteem as family!.  We will miss him from Trainorders, for he was always courteous and respectful in his posts.  He brought lot's of people in his world into an appreciation of rail travel, often sending folks and families on rail trips at his own personal expense.
