Passenger Trains > Sprinter raised platform (Escondido, CA)Date: 01/25/16 22:21 Sprinter raised platform (Escondido, CA) Author: casco17 Here's a pic of the Sprinter, departing westbound from Escondido, CA this afternoon.
The second picture shows a couple of raised platforms; evidently they don't interfere with freight traffic (note the covered hopper in the distance). There are some stations built on curves; in those areas the raised platforms are partially retractable. All photos taken by Ed Saalig.

Those extended platforms do retact. They go up and back like a draw bridge. Date: 01/26/16 18:11 Re: Sprinter raised platform (Escondido, CA) Author: 3rdswitch Wow, Vida Gold still in business.
