Date: 12/14/16 10:56 Re: What happened to #5 yesterday? Author: F40PHR231 In addition to switching, there were problems with the air. The 151+179 sat there with temps dropping from the mid 40s to the teens, so I'm guessing there was condensation and ice buildup in the air hoses.
Date: 12/14/16 11:31 Re: What happened to #5 yesterday? Author: Grande473 Ice would do it. I used to see the Rio Grande add an extra unit on No.2 and add as many as four deadhead units on No. 1, the Royal Gorge, at Pueblo in the 1960s. The trains weren't delayed. But this was during the summer.
