Are all of Amtrak's Cars able to handle Push-Pull Service? Jerry Martin Los Angeles, CA Central Coast Railroad Festival Date: 04/21/17 10:14 Re: Siemens Charger at Rondout Author: HasTy There are some AmFleet style cars that are capable of push-pull operations. However, they are the old Metroliners and are in cab car configurations. I have not seen any of them out on the West Coast since the Surfliner Sets went into service. I also am not sure how many of them are even in services still but I think they are restricted to the NEC anymore.
