Passenger Trains > New York special moveDate: 04/20/17 07:28 New York special move Author: NGotwalt Per a reliable source, Amtrak will be making a special move from Albany to Elmira, NY in the next week or so. No exact date was given. Outbound will be two locomotives and cafe car, return will be two locomotives, a cafe car, and an additional car or cars. I believe at this time it will be only one car. Hope you're hungry.

Cheers, Nick Date: 04/22/17 09:24 Re: New York special move Author: jp1822 If two Viewliner diners are released, along with keeping the other dining cars in service, this would be enough to outfit the Lake Shore Limited. NYP should have a spare Heritage Diner at Sunnyside already. This can even continue as a spare, as long as Augusts, Atlanta, Annapolis, and the refurbished prototype are kept in operation. If they can't then the LSL takes the hit and gets a Dimer-Lite. This then puts the Meteor, Crescent, and LSL with full diner service, which are definitely needed in the upcoming peak season!
