Passenger Trains > Los Angeles MTA Crenshaw Line - TunnelsDate: 04/21/17 16:25 Los Angeles MTA Crenshaw Line - Tunnels Author: casco17 An article in the Daily Breeze, 4/21/17, says that Harriet the tunnel boring machine has completed the two tunnels needed for the MTA Crenshaw Line. The tunnels run beneath a segment of Crenshaw Blvd.; the line is currently forecast to open in Fall 2019. The southern half of the line is being built on the right of way of the former Santa Fe Harbor Subdivision between Imperial Highway and Crenshaw Blvd.

By linking the Green and Expo lines, and potentially the subway, a network begins to take shape. In that the old transit model of suburb-to-central city fails to match today's distributed employment and residential traffic, networks are what are needed to compete with autos that can go almost anywhere.
