Date: 04/27/17 17:20 Re: 66 minutes at North Philadelphia Wednesday Author: chuchubob North Philly station is one of my favorite spots. I don't railfan there at night. I've never felt unsafe there during the day.

Without going back thru all of them, there must be over a half dozen rail car/engine manufacturers represented! Date: 04/28/17 04:52 Re: 66 minutes at North Philadelphia Wednesday Author: chuchubob Out_Of_Service Wrote:

Date: 04/28/17 06:38 Re: 66 minutes at North Philadelphia Wednesday Author: prr60 North Philly was my go-to spot for train watching - 55 years ago. I used to drag my dad out to the far east end of the westbound platform (which was then across Broad Street) so we could get the full effect of the GG-1's coming in at a decent speed. The platform was really narrow at the end, so it was pretty impressive to have those monsters come flying by just a couple of feet away.
Is the present station accessible from the south side where the shops are now? The north side looks a bit foreboding. Date: 04/28/17 06:47 Re: 66 minutes at North Philadelphia Wednesday Author: atsf121 Awesome variety of equipment, and there's even a freight. That's a lot of traffic for an hour.
