Caltrans SC-44 Charger enter revenue service

Yesterday marked the start of revenue service for the 6 State owned Siemens SC-44 locomotives. I have no further details.

No, not really, not quite yet. They are running for testing and certifing. They are not yet in revenue service.

No, they are in revenue service.

Caltrans testing wrapped up in March.

I believe the Chargers ran on 522 this morning and 536 yesterday. While they may not be leading, the Chargers are providing all the power and the P42/F59 is isolated (backup power in case the Chargers have issues).

Two Chargers are on Capitol 547 tonight (Friday night). They should overnight in San Jose then head back east on Capitol 724 Saturday morning.

the Chargers were already CERTIFIED last year on the NEC
