(FL) Tri-Rail expanding to PBG?
Author: Lackawanna484

The regional planning council is considering a proposal to expand Tri-Rail service north to PGA Blvd in Palm Beach Gardens. A new station is being suggested.

The actual service start is years off, and would require a new connection to Florida East Coast. While a Northwood station isn't mentioned, that might also be a possibility.

Palm Beach county leaders have been under pressure to address traffic issues in the booming PBG area.

That's a welcome change from the usual NIMBY efforts when passenger rail expansion comes up. BSB

The PBG area where FEC passes through is a mix of tall office buildings, an enormous mall, and middle to high end residential.

I suspect the expansion, if it happens, will be well received.

FL does a lot of what if planning to put ideas out on the table.

All will be fine as long as they don't try to go into Martin County. That is when all NIMBY hell breaks loose! LOL!

Yes. Just impose a $10 per day out of county parking surcharge n PBG or Jupiter / Tequesta, and Palm Beach County would do just fine...
