Passenger Trains > If The Super Chief Had Grandchildren.....Date: 07/27/17 22:45 If The Super Chief Had Grandchildren..... Author: walstib If the Super Chief had grandchildren, its train cars might look like this eight-car BNSF business train parked in Seattle this evening.
Date: 07/28/17 02:34 Re: If The Super Chief Had Grandchildren..... Author: mp51w Well, the William Barstow Strong car is almost as old as the original Super Chief! I imagine a couple of those Regal series sleepers found their way into some Super Chief consists as well.

Jamie Yeager Santa Fe, NM Date: 07/28/17 07:39 Re: If The Super Chief Had Grandchildren..... Author: hotrail And back in the day, when the Super Chief consist was designed and built, designers and engineers had a sense of style. Unlike whomever designed the hideous mods to create that "theater car". That guy is a hack and based on that car, I wouldn't let him work on an AMC Pacer.

With the car names on the letter board no less. Date: 07/28/17 09:16 Re: If The Super Chief Had Grandchildren..... Author: bmarti7 Actually, after riding on the platform of a private car for days looking backward, I rather would enjoy sitting in a theater car with tiered seats. Too bad the railroads didn't think of it "back in the days"
BB Date: 07/28/17 09:49 Re: If The Super Chief Had Grandchildren..... Author: hotrail I'm sure its a nice ride. My point is that they obviously finished it off by hanging a roll-up garage door on the back. Clearly the designer was not up to the task.

Very sad given the great potential they had given the history of the ATSF....they should have kept a pair of FP45s for business train service. But then they would have to be in warbonnet paint. Posted from Android |
