Passenger Trains > 91/92 and 97/98 reurning to S FL on Tuesday?

Amtrak is currently selling south Florida tickets tickets for the Meteor and the Star for dates on and after Tuesday. Train service is cancelled to / from South Florida until then.

I don't think there are train sets in Miami right now to originate service on Tuesday morning. Does anyone know if the company intends to dead head equipment south, or expand availability on Monday afternoon to allow through passengers?

If they dead head a combined consist, that could be a very impressive train.

Right now there are 91s, 92s, 97s and 98s stored at both Philadelphia and Sanford awaiting disposition. It was learned at 700am this morning that #53 will run south from Lorton on Sunday and run north from Sanford on Monday.

amtrak.com says they are, if you are trying to book space. The update does not yet say so.

Amtrak showed the southbound Auto Train running Sunday, last evening (Friday).

Seems like they're trying hard to restore operations, and not every source has been updated.

Late breaking news-#91&97 startups have now been pushed back 1-2 days per CSX.

Yes, tickets for south of JAX are no longer available for Tuesday or Wednesday.

Thursday now looks like the first day of operations.

98 will start running from Miami on Wednesday (20th) and 92 on Thursday (21st). 97 and 91 both will start running to Miami from JAX on Wednesday (20th). There will be special ORL - MIA 97 on the 19th which is a consist positioning move from Sanford to Miami of a 97/98 consist that was tied down at Sanford.

SunRail started operating today (Monday) with limited service. Tri-Rail started operating on Saturday

Thanks for that info, Jishnu. The Miami Amtrak Hialeah shops looked pretty empty today.
