AAPRCO over Richmondville, with sun this time
Author: march_hare

The AAPRCO convention train returned to the former D&H main yesterday, under much better lighting conditions than Friday. Fall foliage has advanced a wee bit more than a few days ago, but not much. This scene at Seward Lake in Schenevus, NY will look like it's on fire in another couple of weeks. Fortunately, the train provides color of its own.

Meeting an NS intermodal at the midpoint signals of the Delanson siding, a location widely known just as "the field."

The connection with Amtrak at Schenectady doesn't allow a northbound-to-eastbound move. Evidently, they pulled the train into Mohawk Yard and ran around it. After a lengthy wait, he came blowing down the former NYC main at full road speed. The new signs at Lincoln Avenue warn of trains in excess of 80 mph. He was doing all of that, probably more.
