BNSF Passenger Special Departed Denver
Author: cozephyr

The BNSF 7-car passenger train departed Denver, CO, about midnight September 18, 2017 headed east via Brush, Colorado. Where did it go?

September 14, 2017 the 7-car special behind BNSF 8186 arrived from Stockton, CA, into Denver and stayed for four days.

The car second from the rear, "Topeka", is one of the nicest cars in BNSF's fleet.  It is a standard office car with 3 master suites, a dining and office area, and a kitchen.  In this configuration, the car is actually backwards with the kitchen end next to the rear car "William Barstow Srong" and the vestibule is forward attached to the third car from the rear, "Marias Pass".  "Topeka" has its vestibule covers attached (instead of an open platform), so officers can walk between cars without being out in the weather.   The car that is normally in this position, "John S Reed", is undergoing mainteance and will take its rightful place back in the conist in a couple months.
