BBD has been banned from bidding on the R211 order, which will be huge, to replace all 75' cars from the 1970's and 1980's eventually, of which there are about 1,400. Meanwhile, they had better take good care of their 53 year old Budd R32's and 48 year old St Louis R42's, of which there are 272 in service on the A, C, J, and M. From a retired employee on another chat group, what really happened: 1) the emergency brake application was not a train fault, it would of happened to any train. 2) Bombardier is lying thru their glass teeth about the faulty message. An RTO TSS observed the open door enroute, so he ordered the train out of service. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 11/23/17 09:06 by joemvcnj. Supposedly they will restart R179 testing tomorrow. |
