Passenger Trains > Update on BrightLine deathsDate: 04/18/18 20:30 Update on BrightLine deaths Author: Lackawanna484 Three of the five deaths on BL tracks had evidence of drugs in their blood. Various opiods, THC, etc. Two others were determined to be suicides.
In other news, the US House will have a committee hearing on BrightLine safety and financing. Requested by Rep Brian Mast (R-18). https://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/just-three-people-killed-brightline-trains-had-drugs-system/6GrZr02n0Ed4726pljoa3N/ Posted from Android Date: 04/18/18 23:11 Re: Update on BrightLine deaths Author: SN711 They need to make the area around the tracks a 'DRUG FREE ZONE".
Gary Date: 04/19/18 05:19 Re: Update on BrightLine deaths Author: chrsjrcj I wonder why none of the Tri-Rail and FEC hits in the area don’t receive the same amount of scrutiny. People dowb here are under the impression that no one was ever struck by a train until Brightline.

I was wondering similar - You were probably wondering if the scrutiny was biased against Brightline (fast trains... private company). I was wondering - just how much faster, at the restricted 79 mph, are Brightline trains going through those grade crossings then FEC freight, or even other services, not sure if this is the same route as Tri-Rail and /or Amtrak. /Mitch Date: 04/19/18 14:41 Re: Update on BrightLine deaths Author: Lackawanna484 I believe Tri-Rail also travels at 79 miles per hour for short stretches. But it isn't in downtown, and I think that could be an issue.
FEC freights move from very low speeds up to 45-50 in the area. Posted from Android |
