We used SCAL back in ‘88 to detour when the bridge was stuck up acct the extreme August heat— IIRC, the bridge was stuck for several days and yard pilots would get on all the MI trains and take them to 16th st tower, then down the IC Iowa line and out to the PRR at 21st. Took awhile but we got in and outta town !
