M&W employee was killed around 9:00 AM today near the Bowie Maryland station after being struck by a train.

Wow that's rough. I wonder if the watchman was distracted by MARC train and stepped into the path of Amtrak train. That had to be horrible for the engineer.

The media reports are that it was the flagger who was struck and killed.

Sad, all around. Condolences to the family, and for the crews / first responders who had to be part of this.

Wasn't there an accident late last year in the same area when a MARC employee stepped off a train and into the path of an Amtrak train?

You may be thinking of the two CSX employees walking there train and struck by Amtrak.
