Author: buckeyetom My guess is that the gentleman is probably one of our homeless folks here in the Golden State. There are kiosks on almost every corner of every city all over the state giving away free cell phones to welfare recipients.

There is a ton of art throughout the Metro system! The Hollywood/Vine station has these movie reels in the ceiling. Date: 04/26/18 01:13 Re: Getting a charge. Author: jst3751 buckeyetom Wrote:

Pretty judgemental of you, isn't it? Maybe in your high mighty circles a person like is way beneath you, but that looks like an average person waiting for a train. Date: 04/26/18 03:24 Re: Getting a charge. Author: andersonb109 Could be anyone. But if it is a homeless person, why on Earth should they be getting free phones? I would think food and shelter would be more important. The government has never given me free anything. Employment is at record highs even among Hispanics. Jobs should be readily available. I

John Date: 04/26/18 05:04 Re: Getting a charge. Author: co614 My wife and I recently visited Sacramento, Cal. and were amazed by the number of " street people" we encountered everywhere. We were constantly approached on the sidewalks by people of all ages begging for money and this was in the supposedly "good" neighborhoods.
I don't know if its the relatively mild climate or the city's treatment of street people but from our brief exposure it's completely out of hand. On any future visit we would definitely hail a cab at the depot vs. walking anywhere. Sad but true. Ross Rowland Date: 04/26/18 05:36 Re: Getting a charge. Author: wigwag We shouldnt judge. He could be the senior vice president of a fortune 500 company for all we know.

People from all walks of life need to charge their phones, myself included. Posted from iPhone Date: 04/26/18 09:07 Re: Getting a charge. Author: SanDiegan co614 Wrote:

Ross Rowland Good call. Had to quit walking from L.A. Union Station to mt job a few blocks away. It's a combination of policy and weather. Date: 04/26/18 09:16 Re: Getting a charge. Author: jst3751 Very interesting!
lanewsman started this thread by posting a picture of a PASSENGER at a Southern California Gold line rail station. A very interesting real life picture. Nothing derogatory, nothing negative, nothing about homelessness. Just an interesting picture. Yet, 3 people took it upon themselves to post comments about homeless people. Sad. Nothing judgmental about it at all on my part, just an observation... Nothing judgmental about being homeless! I'd say the judgmental part is on your end. Date: 04/26/18 21:35 Re: Getting a charge. I Don't know why but they are, at least in this state (California, where else) some sort of a government grant I heard. Date: 04/26/18 21:38 Re: Getting a charge. Author: buckeyetom co614 Wrote:

I didn't...just commented that we don't need visitors like you or 614 in our state, since it seems to upset you so. Date: 05/01/18 20:15 Re: Getting a charge. Author: buckeyetom utwazoo Wrote:

Not a visitor, lived in this state (California so you can get it straight) for 52 years now. What I can't figure out is why you are grousing and griping about my simple observation that the man was probably one of the homeless people, nothing derogatory about that comment. You need to find something else to snivel about. |
