Has Mr Anderson done any more recent/big changes ?
Author: AC6000CW_Fan

Where there enough complaints to put Hot meals back on Tains 29/30/49/48 ? Also has he Lifted the Private car ban ? I sure hope there was enough support to Change Mr. Andersons Mind . I think passangers would not enjoy Cold meals - Amtrak will lose business if they serve cold meals .

Also Lets Hope Anderson does NOT cut the SW chief . A lot of passngers use the SW Chief a year .

Will Amtrak ever put the Triple A Discount back ?

No.

There was never a ban.

I sure hope there was enough

Amtrak already serves cold meals in some cases. They also serve no meals on the Star and did not lose business.

If wishes were horses...

My Ouija board says no.

You probably meant "they also serve cold meals on the Star....."?

No. There is no diner on the Silver Star whatsoever. Only cafe service in the lounge. I've taken the Star a couple of times this year, and ridership is just as robust as ever, although the loss of dining service is certainly something I miss.

One development of note, is that Boardman has chimed in to Congress, stating fears that the SWC situation is an attempt by Anderson and the BOD to start dismantling the national network. He made a pretty good case in his open letter, and stated that he doesn't believe either Anderson or the Board are being forthcoming or transparent in their intentions, which is unacceptable for a taxpayer-owned corporation.

Sorry, I worded that badly, should have said "they serve no included meals."

Many of us feel Anderson is a very bad guy for Amtrak -- because of the negative things he has done in his 1st. 6 months.

Because he has done nothing positive so far, we must conclude that he is nothing but a cost cutter (so far), with no plans for growth.

Unless he begins to do good things with the very nice grant Amtrak received from Congress--we must be prepared for a dismal future of train-offs, chopped up LD trains, and more horrible cuts in service.

Have you written your letters to your senators and house reps in Washington, D.C. yet? Please do so, keep flooding them with letters again being constructive about how these services are necessary for our citizens.

Indeed, that is so true.

On the "cold meals" thing, the complementary meals served to Sleeper passengers will be cold meals on the LSL and CL. They will still be able to buy stuff like Hamburger, Hot Dogs and Pizzas in the Cafe Car.
