23 of 34 Bedford National Guard soldiers paid a very high price in the WWII Normandy invasion.
A small town to make such a great contribution to our freedom. May they continue to RIP.

Very timely and appropriate reminder on flag day. The WW II memorial @ Bedford worth your time
and respect those from Bedford who died on D Day at Normandy. No other town in the US lost as high a
percentage of serviceman during WW II.

Last summer we saw the memorial in Normandy for these troops. It was very humbling. Makes all the angst about Amtrak seem rather insignificant. A stop in Bedford is definitively in our plans.
