Passenger Trains > Last weeks Caltrans SC44 trip to San Luis Obispo

On Monday and Tuesday June 4th & 5th, Amtrak operated their "Pre-revenue service acceptance testing" train with Caltrans SC44s 2107 and 2108. The trip departed Los Angeles Monday evening, June 4th, and arrived in SLO early on the morning on June 5th.

At one point on Tuesday, SLO had 4 Amtrak trains in town at the same time! That would have been 11,14, 769, and the test extra.

In the photo, trains 11, 14, and 796 have all departed, and the test train prepares to move over to the depot, and depart for LA.

Thanks for posting. Any word on how it operated? And the train set - a spare available for a late night trip?

All trips operated without issues.

You mean 763/796 right? 769 doesn't go to SLO
