Passenger Trains > NJT Raritan Valley Line with ex-CNJ engine on 5/31Date: 06/16/18 18:30 NJT Raritan Valley Line with ex-CNJ engine on 5/31 Author: OCtrainguy As documented here and elsewhere, NJT is using certain GP40 passenger engines as cab cars as they try to work toward PTC. On May 31st, my son and I caught a westbound Raritan Valley Line train, I think it was 5749, just west of Bridgewater station. The engine was pulled by a dual mode and consisted of multi-level coaches. To my surprise, a former CNJ GP40P was back on home rails as NJT 4112 was on the east end of the train with its marker lights on. Just a FYI, that I got my son's elbow in the video at the end, as in our surprise, we lost track of how close we were together. A very nice surprise!
