How many people can they carry?
Author: Woodman

I am sure this has been asked before, but I cannot find it. What is the passenger capacity of a super liner sleeping car and a coach? Thanks ahead of time for your help.

A full Superliner coach has 62 seats upstairs, and 12 lower level for a grand total of 74. Superliner coach/baggage cars have just 62 seats upstairs. Can't remember about the sleepers.

A sleeper has forty-four berths in twenty-one rooms. Typically not all berths are used even if all rooms are sold on a given trip, as single travelers may book two-berth rooms.

Compare to a Viewliner though:

30 berths in 15 rooms - Viewlimer 1 Sleeper
26 berths in 13 rooms - Viewliner 2 Sleeper (no in-room bathrooms give way to two less rooms with berths)

Viewliner is is still a descent sleeper model to emulate for single level, largely due to second row of windows allowing for a second berth. Would be nice to have an "all bedroom" Viewliner.... Would only happen if the passenger railroads were back in their prime and under private control....

Sometimes the coach attendant has a pair of seats saved by the bulkhead.
