Passenger Trains > #30 Capitol Ltd. Boarding at 9:30 pm

As of 9:30 pm CHI time the Cap is boarding. I assume it is because the Builder was 3.5 hrs late into Chicago. Lake Shore is supposed to depart 9:30 pm OT so it will be interestng to see what happens. WOuld the two trins be combined perhaps ?

It seems they are operating separately about 20 minutes apart - both trains now in vicinity of South Bend, IN.

30 (13) 5 hrs late nearing PGH

Must have been a different reason for the late boarding. I was on one of the three late arrivals on Tuesday July 10th (#4, #6, #8). All arrived after 8PM and no trains were held for our connections. The line for passenger services at Chicago Union Station was huge and it took over two hours for everyone to get through the line to get hotel accomodations and rebooked. Not a fun evening for us or the Amtrak Passenger Service clerks who did an amazing job considerating the circumstances.

#30 is being held again tonight 7/14 and again the Empire Builder is late.
