Passenger Trains > Superliners in short haul service/storageDate: 10/14/18 23:10 Superliners in short haul service/storage Author: brc600 What short-haul routes are using Superliners? Any in storage besides wrecked ones?

4 cars are in the Caltrans paint scheme. I think about a dozen or so in the Surfliner pool. With about 6 more coming soon. I think a few are on the Blue Water, and one other route. That is based out of Chicago/mid west. I think. The Pere Marquette has easy access to a wye in Grand Rapids (the GRR station sits in the middle of it), so push-pull operation isn't required and in winter the Superliner vestibules do not fill up with blowing snow coming up from between the cars. When you combine that with the low floor lever (i.e., no steps), it makes them MUCH safer for boarding/detraining at locations where large amounts of lake-effect snow fall every season.
