Passenger Trains > Metra's new F59PHI Test RunDate: 12/05/18 18:43 Metra's new F59PHI Test Run Author: Mastadon This afternoon (12/5) Metra ran a quick test run from their Western Avenue shops with newly acquired F59PHI 84. It headed west on the Elgin Subdivision as seen passing through Bensenville. With 2 gallery cars and F59PHI 93 on the other end, the train quickly returned to the shops. There will be many more opportunties to nab these things in the near future; but for now, this was a preview of things to come.

With the old “Ramsey Journal” building kit in the background, too.... What was the original number for this unit ? Might have run it years ago ... Edited 1 time(s). In other words, are Metra 73-87 the former AMTK 450-464 with: 73 (ex-450) 74 (ex-451) - - 84 (ex 461) etc... And are all F59s on the property yet? I saw 452 in Surfliner service in CA on 11/23 so maybe not. Thanks for the great picture, Don. Rich Date: 12/06/18 20:27 Re: Metra's new F59PHI Test Run Author: IC_2024 mt460 Wrote:

Only 5 remain in service as of this week. 452 is the latest one to arrive in Chicago. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 12/06/18 22:36 by mt460.
