Will these cars get ski train grab in Colorado? How are these Superliners suddenly available? Were they pulled from other trains or in storage or what?

Amtrak business levels drop suddenly after the holidays. Fewer coaches are needed, making these cars available.
WPE would like to operate over holidays but Amtrak could not provide equipment until after. BSB

Yup, saw the CZ with four GEs lumbering through Downers Grove.
Sounded like E8s with open headers on Steroids and in stereo!
Thanks for the video!

Zephyr still has 2-1/4 sleepers and 3 coaches.
Ski train has only 6 cars that are coaches. Weren't there 7 in prior years ?

Yes it did have 7 coaches. This year though they exchanged a coach for a sightseer lounge so they could sell alcoholic beverages on the way back. The lounge car with food/beverage sales was the most requested item on passenger surveys in the last two years of the train running.
