Dear TOs,    I have been search high and low for a accurate track schematic of Harold Interlock for the east side access, with no success any help would be great.     robert 

You might want to try accessing the following website, if you haven't already tried it:

It has a very active LIRR forum, and one of the regulars there can most likely provide the information that you are seeking.  Registration is simple, but it may take a few days to have your access approved.

It's constantly changing.  Anything you get is going to be out of date quickly.

Your looking for a curent diagram? Can't help.
If you want one from decades ago, I can e-mail
you a scan, if you can't find it online.

Try the most recent Google Map/Google Earth image as a possible source.

It's out of date.  We are adding new switches or track every week right now for the next few months.

I will have to look for my Jamaica station pictures. West view, circa 1995.

There must be 200 switches in view, and that's just part of the southwest side.

What year do you want.  

If you ride a train through there, be it Amtrak or LIRR, it's hard to visualize the finished product just looking out the side windows. You'll see construction and retaining walls. Unless you get an M-3, there are no longer railfan front windows on LIRR MU's to see better what is going on and study the right of way. There have been additional tracks and right of way shifts.  Pennsy/LIRR position light signals are disappearing. 

As for Jamaica, the track layout is much the same as it was in 1971, EXCEPT a new Platform F / Track 9 & 10 are under construction on what were through tracks on the south side. They are ultimately for all Brooklyn service, to be made shuttles. Then many of the switches to the Atlantic Branch on the west side may be removed. It will no longer be possible to access from any station track below 6. But they may be less ruthless. we'll see.

There is almost certainly one on the DoT, FTA or FRA web archives somewhere.  Anything with Federal Funding has public planning documents on file.
