Passenger Trains > Where does the delivery of Siemens Bi-Levels for states stand?

Saw this blurb from a Next Generation Corridor Equipment Pool Committee report:

• The first 7 carshells are in production at Siemens Sacramento Facility and carshell #1 has completed the passivation process.  Carshells 8 through 12 are in the initial stages of construction.  The expansion of the Sacramento production facility is in process and on target for a November completion.

Maybe we're getting closer???

From the rust store:

Passivation is the process of treating or coating a metal in order to reduce the chemical reactivity of its surface. In stainless steel, passivation means removing the free iron from the surface of the metal using an acid solution to prevent rust.

These are the cars ordered when the Midwest bi-levels were cancelled. They are single level. 

SINGLE LEVEL = BIG MISTAKE.

The rules are too stringent, and the FRA needs to admit it and back off a bit.

Sorry I had mis-remembered that after the Rochelle, IL company could not produce bi-levels that could pass a compression test, that when Siemens took over the Midwest car order it was changed to single level equipment.
My questions remains - what is the status of the Siemens car order?

The status is in the first post.

That is good news.  Siemens seems to be a decent company that believes in following through on their contractual obligations.
The recent Trump executive order did relax the crashworthiness rules.
Too late for this contract though.
Hopefully Joe Boardman's ghosts won't be there micromanaging this deal into oblivion.
Let's also just hope that semi-drivers and trucking companies in Illinois suddently learn how to navigate, properly maintain, and corrrectly operate their rigs.

Can you provide some more information with citations as to what Trump executive order relaxed which crashworthiness rule? I am not aware of any such. Thanks.

It's not an "executive order." The new regulations were developed by FRA  through the normal rule-making process.
