How ironic!
But the point that everyone seems to miss is how badly Lincoln Service trains have been performing.
With all of the alleged upgrades, they still can't seem to keep time on the ancient slow schedules.
Service gets worse.
Fiasco with the car contract.
More accidents at grade crossings.
Who cares whether is 85 90 95 or 110 so long as we see safety improvements along with consistently solid performance and customer service results.

Bostian aside, it's an old photo with filthy Horizon cars that look like they haven't seen a wash rack since the Clinton Administration.

That photo has to be at leastv 10 years old.  The location is the old St. Louis Amtrak station - note the "platforms."

A cropped version of the photo was used in a NY Times article in 2015.

The Caption:
"Brandon Bostian at an Amtrak station in St. Louis in 2007. Mr. Bostian was the engineer driving the train that derailed on Tuesday in Philadelphia."
"Credit tHuy Richard Mach/St. Louis Post-Dispatch, via Associated Press"

That's just embarrasing for the Post Dispatch — too cheap or too lazy to get fresh art.

Aside from the time the New York Times used the photo, I seem to recall a discussion here when the Post Dispatch, or another paper, used this same photo sometime after the Philadelphia crash for an unrelated story. One would hope they learned from that debacle, but apparently not.
