Passenger Trains > Metra/Milwaukee Road #405 in Service

Thanks to a tip, I took a late lunch today to see Metra's latest heritage-painted make its first revenue run today on Milwaukee North train 2119 out of Chicago Union Station at 1:35 pm. This train flips at Grayslake, IL and becomes train 2142 arriving at Union Station at 5:10 pm.
My first stop was at the north end of Union Station before its departure where I was rewarded with an unobstructed view of the 405. In a nice touch, the Hiawatha emblem has been added to the nose. 
From CUS, I hiked over to the Clinton Street crossing to get a shot of it departing.

You’re in luck! Well sort of... Metra coaches 7217 and 8217 are currently in the train consist with the 405. These are ex-Milwaukee Road gallery cars 317 and 397. 7217 is a 1961-built Budd coach and the 8217 is a 1964-built Budd coach/cab (no longer equipped to be a cab car.

Well!  The Hiawatha emblem really puts it over the top!

Your pictures must be the first to show this locomotive with the Hiawatha emblem. 

I also saw #405 in Union Station tonight at about 5:15 - it is much more impressive looking in person than in the photos!

I would think a CB&Q or BN green liveried loco would be coming along.
Also be nice to repaint a LAHTS-sided ex-C&NW gallery car in green & yellow.

We probably crossed paths as I cut through that way to get my BNSF train.
