I would have thought better co-ordination of the two events would have been the order of the day but then...

This is just a micro view of the system at work. TAW Date: 02/15/19 09:49 Re: The replacement at 30th Street Station Author: choodude boejoe Wrote:

As someone who has done plumbing and wiring upgrades in an old house, I can tell you from experience that it does not make sense to expect that removing the old stuff will go smoothly, nor the new pipes and wires will be easy to put into the old space. I wish for that magic wand that T.O. members must have. Brian Date: 02/15/19 10:21 Re: The replacement at 30th Street Station Author: mbrotzman Let the annoying advirtisments commence!

The picture clearly shows a temporary, LCD monitor, on a floor stand, to display the information during the transition period. Safe rigging for something of that size and weight doesn't happen instantly. There are structural standards that have to be adhered to, possibly requiring off-site fabrication. New power and data wiring has to take place, probably through old conduits that can't be pulled through until the old sign is gone. Unless you have direct knowledge of the project, you can't judge how good or bad the coordination is. |
