Passenger Trains > Amtrak in Salem

Amtrak in Salem

Saw these two parked in the Pringle Yard off 14th Street in South Salem, Oregon this morning. I cruise by this yard almost every day and have never seen Amtrak parked there before. This is about 2 miles south of the Amtrak station. Anybody know why this is?

The left one is a diner, per window placement.

They were delivered a couple of days ago.  I hear that they are supposed to be used by local police/fire for training.  Double AMTK locomotives, back to back, went back to Portland.
