A short news item in the 6/5/19 USA Today notes that a light rail line (part of MARTA?) along the Atlanta Beltline would not be completed until after 2040.

Twenty years to wait? Might as well forget about it. The whole world can change in that time period.

Beltline was bait and switch from the beginning. It is more about lifestyle than helping solve urban transportation issues. However the promoters have gotten control of some transportation ROWs which could have been quite useful.
