Be on the lookout for Chargers in MI
Author: twropr

A contact in MI told me that Chargers are supposed to begin running on Wolverine trains today from Chicago and on the Blue Water this Friday.
Please let us know if you see any.
Thanks!

I sure hope that #350 is still running a P42 today to explain why it's an hour late at Niles still loosing time!

No such luck, it is 4630.
These have been in storage so many years they probably have rusted up (down?).

The weird thing is that 350 did go 110mph but still lost time on the 110mph segments.

An hour late into PNT.. And never got trackspeed until after New Buffalo.. And then areas it slowed back down to 79 mph after that.. Your MIDOT tax dollars at work!

The real test for these new engines will be the winter when snow and ice get caked on the undersides.  Notice the narrow little plow pilots, not to mention the big screened-in porch in the midsection.

When you see them aproaching at night it is like a UFO.  Just wonder if that bright of lighting is really an advantage.

The narrow pilot on the bottom may be in the design to clear Metro North and LIRR 3rd rail.

The real, REAL test will be to see how they hold up under Amtrak-grade upkeep and maintenance.
