Passenger Trains > All Altamont Corridor Express trains annulled today

1. RIDER ALERT: No train service 6/13/2019 
2. Due to a major gas leak in the Livermore area, all ACE service has been cancelled for 6/13 for safety reasons.

PG&E crews have located the leak and shut off the flow of gas, but accumulated gas will have to be vented and dispersed before
repairs can commence and train movements can begin.  Venting will begin early Thursday afternoon.

About six miles of Union Pacific track are closed to train movements.  The entire ACE fleet was east of the location when
the track was shut down, so even if the track is reopened later Thursday, no trains are in position for the afternoon
commute from San Jose.

I guess they cuda run trains martinez-stockon and down to tracy.  That would have covered a lot of their passengers.  Or  they could deadhead at least 2 trainsets out to stockton for the next AM rush.

They (ACE) would have needed some Amtrak crews to pilot the trains for the Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin segments for that detour. I suppose deadheading the train sets pulled by UP power and crew could have been easier to do, but maybe they would have ended up in Roseville. :-)

ACE overnights their trains in Stockton.  That's where they were when the gas leak
shut down the railroad.  They were already in place for Friday's AM rush.

PG&E strikes again!  It never ends!!
