Another NEVER AGAIN. Three hours late departing Chicago because the kitchen did not have a working microwave oven! This incompetence is unbelievable and the reasons seem to broaden and grow each day.

Posted from Android Date: 07/09/19 15:59 Re: SW Chief 3(8) State of Good Repair Author: GenePoon What REALLY happened:
BNSF gave Amtrak (leased, actually) the BNSF 6616 after the AMTK 137 suffered a locked axle. So it's freight speeds west of Mendota. Now reported as almost 11 hrs late. Next stop, La Junta. Glidepath to a stop? TAW Date: 07/09/19 17:50 Re: SW Chief 3(8) State of Good Repair Author: jonathanstrains Are there any private cars on the 11 hour late Southwest Chief of #3? Or for the whole train is it just a BNSF Leader and a normal Consist?

And foamers (who don't ride trains, as explained here on TO) love 'em because odd times make for unusual lighting opportunities for those rare shots. What Real Railfan doesn't love a late passenger train? 66 Date: 07/09/19 23:45 Re: SW Chief 3(8) State of Good Repair Author: JimBaker I use transitdocs (dot) com to check Amtrak Train Status. Any train shown in Black on the map is a really late train.
Then click on the Train Number at the upper left to see a detailed chart of the trains progress along the route selected. James R.(Jim) Baker Whittier, CA Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/09/19 23:49 by JimBaker. |
