Passenger Trains > C&O 2716 escort duty

PV Bay Pines (PAXX 50) and PV Thunder (PAXX 5758) are in transit to the Kentucky Railway Museum where they will serve in escort duty for the movement of C&O 2716 later this month.  Both cars are former circus cars acquired by Paxrail in 2017.  Bay Pines is a former sleeper for the SAL by the same name, and Thunder hauled mail for the UP.  The former served as the trainmaster’s quarters for one of the Ringling trains, and the latter became a power car in circus service.  They are joined by two ’89 RORO flats cars serving as idlers that also spent time with Ringling.  All are moving in support of the preservation efforts of the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation.
