Passenger Trains > Very Late # 29 of the 12thDate: 07/13/19 02:46 Very Late # 29 of the 12th Author: mp16 At Pittsburgh today from 12:21 am til 5:05 am.( 5 hrs., 06 mins. late. ) ETA CHI 4 hrs., 07 mins. late.

Train took 3 hrs., 20 min. to go from PGH to Alliance. Normal time is 1 hr, 40. mins. It will be interesting to see if some Western trains are held at Chicago for connecting Capitol passengers. One lesson is when you are tracking the status of a train, don't always rely on the estimated arrival. It was no surprise that 29 was going to lost even more time enroute. I really hope that 5 and 3 wait but if 29 continues to get later and later, my words to those people making those connections-enjoy the sights and sounds of Chicago.

Date: 07/13/19 10:47 Re: Very Late # 29 of the 12th Author: jp1822 I can't see Amtrak holding any western long hauls with Capitol Limited #29 running so late. Late trains always get later. There are unknowns ahead, especially across Indiana between Elkhart/South Bend and Chicago.........
