Likely somewhere between New York Penn Station and Albany/Rensselaer on #49. 448/449 have been bustituted Sunday through Thursday as CSX performs track work until August 1. While 448/449 operate only on Friday and Saturday, the Boston sleeper is the 3rd sleeper on 48/49 between NY and A/R presumably until CSX concludes its track work on the B&A.

In Penn Station, New York....Amtrak is running all the sleepers through on 48/49 while on most days 448/449 is a bus.

So no sleeper, no baggage, why do they need two engines?

The power usually runs thru CHI-BOS, unless they are changing out a loco in Albany.
