Passenger Trains > wpjones #6 and the Test TrainDate: 07/21/19 18:46 wpjones #6 and the Test Train Author: twjurgens We had 3.2 inches of rain last night and today was humid and gloomy. Traveling gravel roads could be a bit hazardous too so when I heard about the Amtrak happenings here today, I found a crossing just east of Lincoln, NE and waited.
I missed #5 which as I understand it, was held in Iowa account of trees blown down over the tracks. But, here's that late #6 at 98th Street crossing just east of Lincoln at about 1:30 PM. Power was 186 and 147. (more) Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/22/19 05:34 by twjurgens. Date: 07/21/19 18:50 Re: wpjones #6 and the Test Train Author: twjurgens About 2 hours later, the test train came along powered by 202, 130, 4617, and 4618. Engineers on both trains were evidently glad to see someone interested in their trains despite the heavy clouds and intermittant sprinkles as their was lots of honking. The engineer on the test train always gives a wave and couple of extra honks.
Hope this testing works out and we see some of this new power on the Zephyr sometime in the future! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/22/19 05:36 by twjurgens. Date: 07/21/19 21:15 Re: wpjones #6 and the Test Train Author: brc600 Tom; You mean the 1-8-6 not the 1-3-6. brc600 tim v
