Passenger Trains > From Devil to AngelDate: 08/03/19 10:28 From Devil to Angel Author: erielackawanna Until I was looking through my pics and videos of the last few days, I hadn't realized that I had shot at Sputyen Duyvil (spite the Devil) and Angel's Flight within days of each other.
Angels Flight in Downtown LA calls itself the World's Shortest Railroad. Rode it earlier this week while playing Uber for my kid and waiting for her during her meeting. Edited 1 time(s). Don't know if this is called an "inclined railway" or "funicular". Horseshoe Curve PA has a similar operation - and shorter than this.

Built in 1901 to move people between Hill and Olive Streets, the original was 315 feet long. Moved 1/2 block south in 1996, it is now 298 feet long. The Bunker Hill Urban Renewal Project (redevelopment) was a terrible project. Today, the office/residential tower areas and Civic Center areas are sterile, unwelcoming. No one wants to walk there. Lot's of info about Angle's Flight and Bunker Hill on teh web. |
