What is going on with #3 engines problem out of ABQ again?
Over 5 hours late again Tuesday. Daylight down Cajon.

I show 3(8) on time out of ABQ and 2 1/2 hours late at Needles.

3(7) was worse.  It started out with the AMTK 179 and 29.  The 179 went
SOGR and had to be set out at Albuquerque.  Train ran single unit to
Winslow where BNSF 4540 was added in the lead.  Train wound up
about six hours late into SoCal.

Yeh...daylight over Cajon, either day.



 

#3 just left Barstow, CA around 10:45 a.m. (TUES). 6 hrs late and missing some of its train.

It appears that the diner and at least one coach were missing from the consist. Makeup was the usual 2 power units, baggage, crew dorm, 2 sleepers, 1 observation, and 1 coach.

Set out at Cadiz for tripping multiple detectors.

Diner 38028 and Coach 34041 set out Cadiz, CA account hot bearings.  Set off multiple defect detectors.

Hopefully, being late breakfast was served before removing the diner.

Did the snack car have anything to purchase.?

Doesn't surprise me there, also he's doing the same tactic on the other LD Trains too I bet!

Emptying the dish wash going over a detector so hot wheels on 2 cars. This is not the first time this has happen.

They must have done it several times then since they tripped a couple of detectors.

So we have here, what...seriously disappearing  maintenance of dying locos in Chicago...and moving sabotage?
Hot roller bearings?
I can't wait for the coming Amtrash meals east of the Mississippi !
This would all be hilarious if it wasn't so damned maddening...and dangerous..
