A fair amount of stop and go.  When they are moving it is only at 30 mph. Stopped out in the desert currently.  Other sites are saying debris on the track.  They are also saying track issues.  Why? I do not know.

From the Amtrak site:Update: Southwest Chief Train 3 that departed Chicago (CHI) on 9/12 is being delayed at Winslow (WLO) due to an unforeseen engine swap and crew change caused by earlier delays from debris on the tracks west Albuquerque (ABQ). We will update once the train is back on the move.1 reply 1 retweet 8 likes

Passed #3 at Winslow today around 0400ish. Headlight off, new Dash leader. DS said they were having problems. Then, we passed a West facing Amtrak motor in the spur at McCartys. Didn't get the #.

Details about 3(12)...and it wasn't a SOGR issue.

3(12) with AMTK 164 and 199 crashed into a boulder near Laguna, NM.  No injuries to crew or pax but the 164 was damaged, possibly seriously.  An attempt was made to torch the pilot plow but there apparently could be structural damage, as the plow could not be cut sufficiently to clear, so the unit was set out at McCartys NM.  BNSF 5518 was picked up and added in the lead at Gallup.
