a late #3 approaches the top of the canyon leading into downtown kingman, az this morning on main #1 of the bnsf's seligman sub with a bnsf leading another amtrak unit. the downtown kingman, az station stop is just around the corner from the bottom of the canyon at the end of the video. one more video to follow......... as the late #3 swapped crews and made its station stop in downtown kingman, i went to the w/end of kingman canyon. here is #3 on a sweeping curve and getting ready to leave the confines of kingman canyon. thanks to those who posted the "heads up" on #3 running late today............. 66 You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. ...and it wasn't a SOGR issue, the equipment was running just fine, until: 3(12) with AMTK 164 and 199 crashed into a boulder near Laguna, NM. No injuries to crew or pax but the 164 was damaged, possibly seriously. An attempt was made to torch the pilot plow but there apparently could be structural damage, as the plow could not be cut sufficiently to clear, so the unit was set out at McCartys NM. BNSF 5518 was picked up and added in the lead at Gallup. |
