Passenger Trains > Pacific R.R. Society “National Forum” trip cancelled?

Looking for it and no sign on first few trains between Los Angeles & San Diego.

Any information?

The Society's Facebook says nothing about a cancellation.

Just called P.R.R.S. and the morning trip did not go off.

Car is supposed to be southbound now but they couldn't give a train #.

Looks like there is (and has been) police activity around Union Station
in Los Angeles with several train cancellations...
 

A friend was at Union Station for a party but a bomb threat shut things down for four hours.
She wasn't concerned about train operations so I don't know HOW MUCH was shut down.

For those looking to take a photo of the National Forum going to San Diego today, unfortunately it will not be coming. Late last night, when the car was placed on the train, Amtrak discovered a small air leak during the brake test. A special curved elbow connected one of disc brake cylinders developed a crack, and no replacement part was available. Hopefully we will be able to find a replacement part, and be back on the road soon. Thanks to everyone who wanted to see the car run.

I got an E mail at 3:00 AM telling me tio trip was off. They said they would refund but I want to be on the next trip.

With the police activity,  trains would have not operated.

Several Surfliners cancelled in the morning,   Operations OK in the afternoon, subject to delay on equpment turns.

The PRS National Forum trip was canceled when the car failed the Single Car Air Brake Test last night.  There was a cracked fitting on one of the eight brake cylindar hoses, I very minor leak, but enough to prevent main line operation.  Neither PRS or Amtrak had a replacement hose available, so the trip had to be canceled.

I have not heard about the shut-doen of LAUS, but it was not related to the National Forum cancelation.
