You just have to know where they are and some are pretty inaccessible even from the local roads. I rode east on #4 a couple of weeks ago in the Overland Trail lounge (now relocated to the east coast) and I pointed some of them out so photographers could get a picture out the rear door window. Riding back on Amtrak in the lounge they were much harder to spot as they went by fast.
