Passenger Trains > Pre-Dawn No. 4Date: 11/29/19 14:47 Pre-Dawn No. 4 Author: bmarti7 I was staying in Emporia and noticed that No. 4 was running quite late when I went to bed on the 18th. I set the alarm for 6 am. I checked their position - just departing Newton. So I headed out in the dark to find a location in northeast Lyon County where I could possibly get No. 4 just after sunrise, with the gold shining on its stainless steel. The railroad heads northeast from JR Junction, but the roads are all east-west or north-south. I picked a crossing with a signal at MP 104, which would alert me of its approach. He came by my locale 4 minutes before the sun, but the pre-dawn colors were nice. Hope you enjoy.
