I think it was discussed here on TO, in case anyone wants to search for the discussion. It reports on 5 potential routes, four of which involve a tunnel up to 270-feet deep, and as much as a mile inland.

Perhaps a short-lived victory, however, as they watch their homes slide onto the beach below because the railroad will no longer be shoring up the bluffs.
