Passenger Trains > NJ Transit may get Some new directorsDate: 01/10/20 12:05 NJ Transit may get Some new directors Author: Lackawanna484 The Bergen Record reports that Governor Murphy and Senator Weinberg may have reached an agreement to begin repopulating the NJ Transit Board of Directors. The nominally 13 member board has been operating with just the Governor's four representatives for about 18 months. Mrs Weinberg is an exceptionally powerful member of the legislature, and has blocked the seating of directors, citing the need for rail transit riders, bus passengers, union leaders, etc to be represented on the board. There was an earlier thread about a suggestion from Mrs Weinberg. That individual is not on the current list.
Governor Murphy continues to quarrel with Senate President Steve Sweeney and his patron George Norcross, so appointees sponsored by Mr Sweeney have been blocked https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/transportation/2020/01/09/nj-transit-board-nominees-may-go-through-senate-monday/4426185002/ Date: 01/10/20 16:28 Re: NJ Transit may get Some new directors Author: pdt Better than Old Directors, i guess...
